Description
I went for a retro-futuristic look with this and also experimented with variable-width lineart in Inkscape.
Isn't it odd that the Altair and IMSAI computers look futuristic yet so retro at the same time!

Technical details: The Altair 8800 and IMSAI 8080 are the first two commercially successful personal computers, the Altair debuted Jan 1975, and the IMSAI debuted Dec 1975 as the first 'clone' computer.
Character backstory: During the 70's, Altair-tan and IMSAI-tan were bitter arch-rivals, but haven't heard from each other since they both fell into obscurity in the early 80's and went their separate ways as wanderers. More than 20 years after, they were surprised to find out the other was still alive and abandoned their grudges. Now they have reconciled and are friends... took them long enough!

Really awesome use of variable width lines! I noticed there was something different about this image when I first saw the thumbnail, and those variable lines really do add to the overall image.
The outfits are cool and their faces are especially adorable-- my only criticism would be IMSAI-tan's left hand, which is a out of proportion (and the fingers shouldn't be so long, either).
