Barbie Linux is a Linux distribution that was announced in the spring of 2006, though there are very few listed technical details, no screenshots and few articles still in existence. It is very likely just a hoax but Barbie Linux-tan exists as an extremely tall blonde-haired woman in a pink+white minidress. (her appearance is somewhat based off the Barbie doll)

She is primarily a fashion designer and is very friendly, generous and outgoing though a little blunt at times. She is 221 cm tall [7'3"] which is the high-end of the Barbie doll's predicted height if it were lifesize.

And like many Linux distro-tans, she carries a spear and is competent at wielding it.

While well-liked among the Mac-tans, vintage OS-tans and some Linux-tans, she is derided by the more elite Linux-tans and Unix-tans as 'a phony' (because of Barbie Linux's status as a likely hoax) and she regards the Windows XP-tans as rivals because from an article it was stated that Barbie Linux was intended to be a replacement for Windows XP marketed towards young girls.
